The Macomb Center is home to several fine show choir programs for students in middle school, high school and college. Through participation in the Macomb Center’s Show Choir programs, students learn the art of musical theater. A combination of singing, acting and choreographed movement combined to create the necessary skill set for a Broadway-style performance. Opportunities abound for singers to not only perform at numerous functions, but to learn the craft from professional vocal clinicians and choreographers. While pursuing their musical interest, students gain self-esteem, enhance their performance experience and have the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships. In addition, they will gain the experience of performing on a professional stage at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.
The Macombers
Family entertainment in a "something for everyone" performance best describes the highly
choreographed show choir ensemble known throughout the state as The Macombers,
the Goodwill Ambassadors of Macomb Community College. Founded in 1970, The Macombers
have grown in emphasis and stature. They are Michigan's oldest college show choir, and
although constantly changing their musical selections and personnel, continue to receive
rave reviews. The group performs dozens of shows a year throughout the Detroit area
and beyond. All members are full-time scholarship students at Macomb Community College.
They have appeared with professional performers such as The Chieftains, Neil Sedaka,
Judy Collins, Marvin Hamlisch and Tom Jones. The Macombers have performed for everyone
from American Presidents and major corporations to local school children.
Magic Company & Garfield Singers
Magic Company and Garfield Singers are show choir programs for gifted and talented

Junior High Workshop
Held in January of each year, the Junior High Workshop gives school groups from
the local area exposure to professional choreographers and vocal coaches in a two-day
intensive workshop experience.
