Drama Workshop

July 14-18, 2008

A program for grades 1–12

The drama workshop places emphasis on the creative expression of ideas and personal development of artistic skills through collaboration. Emphasis is placed on cooperation, concentration, movement and story development.

The workshop activities are used to expose students to basic acting skills and assist in the development of relationships in a noncompetitive environment.

Students are divided into age appropriate groups for the workshop.

The schedule for the week is as follows:

Monday: 9am - 10am: Parent orientation (activities & program philosophy)

Monday–Thursday:

9am – 12pm - Grades 1 and 2
9am – 3pm - Grades 3–12

Friday: All students 9am  

9:30 am - 10:45am - Performance- Grades 1-6                                                                                                           11am -12:30 pm- Performance- Grades 7-12

 

YOUR REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES:

  • Entrance to all workshop activities
  • Camp t-shirt
  • Continuing Education Units (CEUs). CEUs are awarded for non-degree credit, self-improvement, personal development and skill upgrade programs. Transcripts may be requested listing workshops completed.

TOTAL ENROLLMENT FEE:

Grades 1 - 2: $120*
Grades 3 - 12: $195*

Non-refundable deposit of $75 due June 6.
Balance due July 1.
Early Bird Discount (If paid in full by June 6).
Grades 1 and 2: $100
Grades 3 - 12: $175
Based on availability.

*Cancellation must be made 3 weeks prior to start of the workshop to receive a refund.

Snacks, pop and water are available for purchase during all workshops. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks, lunch and beverage.

WORKSHOP PRESENTERS

Lou Fazzini, Director

The drama workshop is directed by Lou Fazzini, who is also the Founder, and Executive/Artistic Director of "All The World's A Stage." He graduated from Eastern Michigan University, with a Master of Fine Arts in Theater Arts with a specialization in drama and theater for the young. Fazzini is a former adjunct faculty member of the Theater Arts Department at Macomb Community College and coordinator of the F.A.M.E. (Fine Arts Meets Education) and Acting Out arts education partnerships with the Fraser, Roseville and Lake Shore Public Schools and Maple Lane Elementary School. He developed a successful drama program for At-Risk Youth in partnership with the Michigan State University Extension Program, the Family Independence Agency, the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center and L'Anse Creuse Public Schools.

The drama workshop staff is comprised of several gifted individuals with training and experience in both theater and education. Assistnat Director Lisa Dobbin, and instructors Dawn Janicki, Jennifer Stark, Eric Pioch, and Carolyn Blanchard, all hold degrees and are involved in theater throughout the state of Michigan.
