All young singers, ages 7 through 13, are invited to experience the joys of music-making in a county-wide choral program. The chorus strives to enhance and expand upon the musical opportunities that children receive in their school and church choirs by providing additional training and experiences.
Rehearsals emphasize the development of musicianship and vocal technique, Through the study of the highest quality music literature, the singers develop musical artistry, poise, confidence, discipline and an understanding and love of the art of music.
Rehearsals and Concerts:
Weekly rehearsals are held from September through May. The chorus presents two major performances each year; both the Winter and Spring concerts are held at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. In addition, the group sometimes performs in the community. Highlights of previous seasons have included performances at the Romeo Peach Festival and the Fox Theatre in Detroit, and participating in choral workshops and festivals with other choirs.
Macomb Children's Chorus has three choirs:
- Junior Choir for ages 7-9
- Senior Choir for ages 9-12
- Trobadours for ages 10-13
