The schedule for the week is as follows: 
Monday – Friday:
Session 1: Grades 6 & 7; 9 am – 12 pm
Session 2: Grades 8 & 9; 1pm-4pm

The Clarinet Workshop offers intensive musical training for the developing clarinet student.  During this week-long workshop, a foundation of clarinet fundamentals will be presented through discussions, warm-ups, exercises, and a workbook, with a cumulative performance presented at the end of the week.  Some of the topics of this workshop include breathing techniques, tone production, articulation, hand position, intonation, reed adjustment, equipment, practice techniques, and other related information to enhance the serious clarinetist's education.

About the Director, Lisa Raschiatore
Biography

Clarinetist Lisa Raschiatore is a freelance musician and teacher in the Southeastern Michigan area.  She is a regular performer with the Michigan Philharmonic, Dearborn, West Michigan, and Traverse Symphony Orchestras and has also appeared with the Windsor, Grand Rapids, and Detroit Symphony Orchestras.

An active proponent of contemporary music, she has commissioned works from composers David T. Little, Andre Myers, and Kirsten Volness. She co-founded a new-music ensemble called Warped Consort, and premiered numerous works by prestigious young composers as a member of the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble in residence at the Aspen Music Festival and School.  While a member of ACE, she was a featured performer on "Performance Today," the nationally syndicated radio show from American Public Media.  She worked with composer Michael Daugherty in the creation of his clarinet concerto, Brooklyn Bridge, which was commissioned by the International Clarinet Association and premiered by Michael Wayne (of the Boston Symphony) at Carnegie Hall.  She has participated in the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, the Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina, and the Festival de Música de Santa Catarina in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil.

She completed her undergraduate degree at Pepperdine University under the tutelage of Mary Gale, and earned both her Masters and Doctoral degrees at the University of Michigan with Fred Ormand, Dan Gilbert, and Monica Kaenzig.  Dr. Raschiatore has served as the Interim Professor of Clarinet at Central Michigan University, and was also the Instructor of Clarinet at Alma College in Alma, MI.  She is now currently on several faculties in Michigan, including Madonna University (clarinet and chamber music) and Adrian College (music theory).
