A virtual auction to benefit the arts and cultural programming at Macomb Community College

The Macomb Community College Foundation will host its first virtual auction, Spring into the Arts, March 22 – 26 to benefit arts and cultural programming at Macomb. Approximately 50 items donated by local businesses and individuals will be up for bid, including custom jewelry, designer handbags, food and wine baskets, and family entertainment packages.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has posed tough challenges to arts and cultural organizations,” said Christina Ayar, director, Macomb Community College Foundation. “Spring into the Arts creates an opportunity for us to come together as a community in a fun way while supporting the college’s ability to continue providing quality arts and cultural programming.”

Among the items up for bid are an original watercolor painting by local artist Louis King and a collector Universum chess set by Arthur Elliot. Other items being auctioned off include a smores kit with artisan tabletop fire pit, a Grand Rapids family fun package, art classes and custom gift baskets.

Sponsored by First State Bank, the auction kicks off Monday, March 22, at 12 p.m. and wraps up Friday, March 26, at 7 p.m. To participate in the auction, go to www.mccauction.givesmart.com and register. Once registered, participants will receive information on how to preview items and participate in the bidding process. Participants must be at least 21 years old to bid on prizes that include alcohol. Winners will be notified after the conclusion of the auction on March 26.
