Intro to Musical Theatre Workshop
Workshop Classifications
At the Macomb Center we pride ourselves on offering Performing Arts experiences for students of different ability and experience levels. Our workshops are classified into three levels: Exploratory, Moderate and Intensive. Each level marks a progression in complexity of material covered in the workshop. These classifications are meant to serve as a guide in deciding if a particular workshop is right for your student. Please email artseducation@macomb.edu with any questions.
Moderate: For students with some prior experience or a strong aptitude for the performing arts who are eager to develop existing skills. This level builds upon foundational knowledge and introducing more complex techniques. These programs work toward a more structured final performance or showcase. Beyond basic teamwork, students learn to understand the highly collaborative nature of the performing arts. They develop accountability to a team, understanding how individual roles affect a final performance.
About the Workshop
Is your student ready to move beyond the basics and discover what it truly takes to take center stage? This summer, our Intro to Musical Theatre Workshop offers the perfect bridge between creative play and professional performance. Students learn from our community partners at All The World’s A Stage (ATWAS). Designed specifically for grades 4–7, this moderately intense program challenges young artists to sharpen their skills while having the time of their lives. The workshop culminates with a revue performance on the Macomb Center’s main stage. This year’s production is Broadway JR. Revue: Pure Imagination.
